Catechism

One of the ways we teach our children the main truths of the Bible and prepare them to see the beauty of the gospel is to use the time-tested tradition of catechesis.

Students in the preschool Sunday School class participate in a special time of worship, where they learn an updated version of the Westminster Shorter Catechism adapted from a resource called The Children’s First Catechism and set to the engaging music Ask Me Whooo.

Some of the preliminary truths they learn are:

Q: Who made you?

A. God.

Q: What else did God make?

A. God made all things.

Q. Why did God make you and all things?

A. For His own glory.

Q. How can you glorify God?

A. By loving Him and doing what He commands.

Q. Why are you to glorify God?

A. Because He made me and takes care of me.

Q. Is there more than one true God?

A. No. There is only one true God.

Q. In how many Persons does this one God exist?

A. In three Persons.
